Was poking thru a junk shop and this was on the floor in the back room, pulled it out and HAD to have it. Have taken it with me to every home I have had since.

I can only imagine the man that carved this, probably in anticipation of his new bride crossing the threashold when the house was finished.

I show it here, as a header for my 19th century crib quilt. A beautiful pair, don't you think?
